Review by hotel critic
I recently had the chance to experience a culinary long weekend at the Ritz, and while it wasn't all smooth sailing, there were some highlights worth sharing. The hotel's location is undeniably convenient, nestled close to MG Road and the SGS Mall, making it easy to explore nearby attractions like Blue Nile and the Irani Cafe. The Art Deco-style rooms are spacious and equipped with the basics—AC, TV, and a decent-sized bathroom, which I appreciated after a long day out. My experience was somewhat dampened by the lack of Wi-Fi and unstable phone signals. What stood out most was the restaurant. Although on the pricier side, the pure vegetarian menu was well-crafted with fresh ingredients. Dining here felt inviting, with a cozy ambiance that was perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal. I particularly enjoyed their breakfast, with a selection of at least five items that catered to various tastes. Despite some structural upkeep needed for the property, the dedicated staff was commendable in their efforts. The rooftop terrace offered a pleasant view, though it too has seen better days. The Ritz provides a decent base to savor local flavors while exploring the vibrant surroundings.
